  • Is your beef grass fed?
Our cattle are free-pastured on organic grass and organic hay year round. They are not constrained or trapped in "feed-lots." They are fed small amounts of locally-milled grain (which is soy-free!) to improve the taste, flavor, and inner marbling of the meat. We have personally tried 100% grass-fed beef and it simply wasn't as delicious as the beef who had access to small amounts of grain.
  • Is your meat organic?
We are not certified organic but we do not utilize chemicals on our fields or animals. We, as a family, strive to avoid harmful chemicals in all areas of our lives (in personal hygiene items, in our food, in our yards i.e. pesticides, herbicides, etc.). We want to provide your family with that same level of safety and security!
  • Do you use antibiotics, hormones, or steroids in your cattle?
We NEVER give our animals hormones or steroids. Antibiotics would only be administered in situations of true medical emergency (i.e. a cow sustained an infection during calving that became life-threatening, etc.). One of our main goals is to provide safe, delicious, nutrient-dense meat for parents and their children. We would never put something into your meat unless we would consume it ourselves!
  • What is in your cattle feed?
Barley, wheat, rice, alfalfa pellets, corn, and various vitamins and trace minerals (like calcium, riboflavin, zinc, vitamin E, and vitamin D). Our feed is locally made and non-gmo, but is not certified organic (yet!).
  • Is your beef dry-aged?
Yes! Our animals are harvested humanely (and quickly! No suffering here!) with our local USDA butcher. The meat is then dry-aged for two weeks in a cold room which leads to incredibly tender, delicious beef. Dry-aging is known as the gold-standard for delicious beef.
  • Will my meat be frozen or fresh upon delivery?
Your meat will be frozen when we pick it up from our local butcher. We will keep that meat frozen in coolers or freezers until we deliver it to you.
  • What type of cattle do you raise?
We have full blood wagyu, half-wagyu/half-angus (also known as F1s), and 100% Angus cattle.
  • Where do you buy your animals?
From other local farmers. We try to give our business to other small-scale farmers, and they do the same. We usually have a few cattle for sale or trade at any given time.
  • How can I order beef from your farm?
First of all, thank you so much for supporting our family farm! We know that you could purchase your meat anywhere, so we are especially honored that you have chosen to support us! We offer many options for ordering our beef: 1. You can order directly from our website! 2. You can call or text Ashley at (859) 314-5974 to place your order. 3. You can email us at parrcreekfarms@gmail.com to place an order.
  • When I place an order, do I have to pay for it all up front?
In the case of handmade products, individual cuts of beef, boxes of beef, and 1/8 a cow, we ask that you pay the entire amount at the time of purchase. For larger quantities of beef, such as 1/4 cow, half cow, or whole cow, we ask that you pay a portion of the cost up front. This will serve as your deposit and secure that beef just for your family! Your total final cost is based upon the hanging weight of the cow, which we will provide to you as soon as we receive it from our butcher. Your remaining balance will be due when we deliver your beef. But if you need to (or would prefer to) work out a payment plan for larger beef orders, we are happy to do that as well! Just call, text, email, or message us for info!
  • Once I order from you, when will I receive my meat?
That depends on how large of an order you place. If you purchase one of our boxes, we can usually deliver that beef to you within a couple days. If you purchase 1/4, 1/2 or whole cow, delivery usually occurs about 2-3 weeks after ordering.
  • Can I pick up my order directly from your farm?
As we have young children, for safety concerns, we cannot open our farm up for visits from the general public. For dear friends and family, farm visits are welcome, but please know that we do offer personal delivery directly to our customers.
  • Do you offer shipping?
We can ship all of our handmade goods (candles, lotion, etc.). We do not yet offer shipping for meat, but are looking into the option!
  • Who makes your handmade goods?
Ashley and the children make every single item! It is quite a labor of love!
  • Do you use artificial fragrances and colors in your products?
No! We only utilize 100% pure, therapeutic grade essential oils for scents. We do not use artificial colors in any of our products.
  • Are all of your handmade products organic?
We are not a certified organic farm, but Ashley only uses organic ingredients ( cocoa butter, shea butter, etc.) to make her handmade items, unless the organic ingredient is simply not available.
  • Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely! We love custom orders! Call or text Ashley at (859) 314-5974 to discuss your ideas further.
